Ecs K7vmm Drivers

(1Ghz SDRAM machines can't remember the model numbers I've used off the top of my head) I've had to do far less support searching on FAQS and newsgroups over problems then I've had to building systems with ASUS or ABIT boards that acted flaky after installing them. It really comes down to price. I would not buy and ECS board if money were no object and I was building a machine. I'd go with MSI ASUS ABIT or Gigabyte all of which are a littel more expensive than ECS comparible product. If I were on a budget, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to pick up a newer model ECS board.

As always just make sure there is a warranty, and I'll always pay a little bit more to buy locally knowing that I can physically return the product if there's problems. Plus brick and mortar outfits are less likely to just drop off the face of the earth (though it does happen on occasion) than an online computer parts dealer. THis is actually a great MB. I have built several system with it myself and have had a lot of luck with it.
I was using the k7sem before this, and liked that one as well. K7vmm is nice, as you can use DIMMS or DDR. One thing- if you are installing windows XP, make sure to apply all the drive updates. There is an AMD update that only seems to work if you apply it thru windows update, and it resolves an error in event viewr that i cannot remember at this time. I personally HIGHLY recomend this MB, however, this and the k7sem is the ONLY ECS boards i have used and been happy with. So far, out of 25 or so i have sold in the last year (k7sem and k7vmm(, i have not had ONE of them go bad.
