Technique is Memory, one of these sources, unfortunately, has been out of print for 50 years. Regrettably, when Primrose wrote Technique is Memory he believed it only needed to be printed for violin. Thus my mentor and I decided to transcribe the book for his native instrument, the viola, and we actively sought to get it republished.

William Primrose: Technique Is Memory March 20, 2008 at 04:36 AM I'm starting to take lessons with the teacher I'll be with for college starting this fall, and among the the books I picked up is 'Technique Is Memory', written by William Primrose. It's out of print, so if folks are interested in seeing it, lemme know and I'll figure out a way to type it up with Finale or.pdf it or something. Has anyone else used this book before or even heard of it? I've never worked out of Gazda, Sevcik or Schradieck but I'd at least heard of them before I got my assignments, this guy is completely new to me. The exercises look like another rehash of Sevcik, just slight differences in the pattern and with a very well thought-out introduction.
